Talented Registered Nurse Jenny Hopkins to Publish in Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare

With a publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Jenny Hopkins joins the prestigious International Nurses Association.

Jenny is an Australian nurse educator with curriculum development and E-learning production experience. Currently, she is teaching overseas registered nurses in international nursing programs at the Institute of Health and Nursing Australia (IHNA). Prior to this position, she worked at Cabrini Palliative Care and received glowing commendation from her colleagues. Jenny trained as a registered nurse at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, working in their ICU. Nursing in London and then New Zealand led to further nursing study and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

While studying and bringing up young children in New Zealand, she took on the role of President of Massey University Extramural Association, working with 7,500 students.

Jenny then moved to Wellington and established the Radio New Zealand Health Service. In 2002 she returned to Melbourne and to nursing at the Alfred Hospital.  She then followed her passion for palliative care nursing at Cabrini’s Acute Palliative Care Unit in 2005.  In 2009, a request for her to teach Palliative Care to overseas nurses led to her current full time position as a Nurse Educator at IHNA where she created the on-line RN re-entry to practice course. She is now fully involved in the entire Initial Registration for Overseas Registered Nurses program and the Diploma of Nursing program for Enrolled Nurses.

Jenny is motivated by patient satisfaction and student progress. Her success is attributed to having a true passion for teaching nurses to the highest standards and for optimal care for palliative patients and their families.
