She has been in practice for over 41 years and has demonstrated excellence in patient care in order to become one of the top nurses in her state.

Nurse Evelyn Hoover has a long and successful career in nursing, which began at Helene Fuld School of Nursing of Provident Hospital, Inc., in Baltimore, Maryland where she obtained her degree as a Registered Nurse (1975). She has practiced at Provident Hospital, Johns Hopkins Pediatrics at Home, Wilson Memorial Hospital (Johnson City, NY), and Cone Health System (Greensboro, NC). She progressed from clinical instructor to assistant professor, teaching at Baltimore City Community College, University of Maryland, Coppin State University, Anne Arundel Community College (all in Maryland), Randolph Community College (Asheboro, NC). She was the nursing program chair at the ITT Technical Institute. She currently is assistant professor on the tenure track at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University School of Nursing where she specializes in community health nursing and education.

Nurse Evelyn is an ideal teacher and professor for future nurses, and as such is helping to shape the future of our care system. She is an active member of her local church, as well as being a member of the North Carolina Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing Society. With her dedication to expanding on her skills and experience to a new generation of nurses, Evelyn Hoover is a very worthy new member of the International Nurses Association.
