Leading Clinical Nurse Informaticist Amy Kalea Kuwata to be Published in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare as New Member of the International Nurses Association

The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome Amy Kalea Kuwata to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Amy is a Clinical Nurse Informaticist (CNI) at University of California, San Francisco. She has over 10 years of nursing experience, with the past 4 years specializing in nursing informatics. As a nursing informaticist, she acts as a liaison between the direct patient care nurses and the information technology (IT) teams within the healthcare system. She takes the innovator approach to understanding both worlds and to bring them together for better knowledge sharing, workflow, and, ultimately, patient care.
Educated at San Francisco State University, Amy completed an associate’s degree at Shoreline Community College, a bachelor’s degree at University of California, Santa Cruz, and a master’s degree at San Jose State University. She is an inductee of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and is an active member of the American Nurses Association, American Nursing Informatics Association, and the Institute of Nursing Excellence.
Amy attributes her success to mentorship of colleagues and support of her organization and managers. In her free time, she enjoys biking, hiking, and generally spending time outdoors.
