The nursing career of Nurse Jerri Scott began at Palm Beach Jr. College in Florida, where she not only became a qualified registered nurse but she also gained a Bachelor Degree in Health Care Administration. Nurse Jerri has demonstrated a commitment to lifelong learning and continual improvement and during her career has gained additional qualifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

During her career, Nurse Jerri has worked in a number of varied locations and departments, but she now specializes in critical care nursing, critical care intensive units, emergency rooms, and cath labs. Through this front line nursing, she is able to make a big difference to her patients’ lives, and she finds this very rewarding.

Nurse Jerri likes to keep up to date with the latest developments in her field by reading the Critical Care Nursing journal, but when not working she likes to spend time in her garden, as well as enjoying a bowling game or two. She says that the support and encouragement of her family has sustained her throughout her life in nursing and attributes her success to her commitment to putting her patients’ needs first and giving them truly outstanding care. It is this exemplary attitude that makes Jerri Scott such a worthy new member of the International Nurses Association.

Sandra was educated at Lone Star College System, where she obtained her RNFA certification and associate’s degree in Applied Science in Nursing. She graduated cum laude, received an Outstanding Student Award for Surgical Technology at Galveston College, and is an inductee of Phi Theta Kappa. In addition, Sandra is on the advisory board for the Lone Star College Surgical Technology Program and is an active member of the Association of Surgical Assistants and the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses.
