Leading Nurse Educator and Clinician M. Patricia Hunt-Slamow, PhD, PMHCNS, BC., BCETS to be Published in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare as New Member of the International Nurses Association

The International Nurses Association is pleased to welcome M. Patricia Hunt-Slamow, PhD, PMHCNS.,BC., BCETS to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Dr. Hunt-Slamow, formerly the Program Director of Graduate Nursing at South University in South Carolina, retired from this position on November 2, 2015 to pursue interests in working with Families of PTSD Victims. Dr. Hunt-Slamow is a Family Therapist who maintained a private practice in NY from  1990 – 2008 while she also held faculty appointments in Nursing at Mount St. Vincent’s and Concordia College.  With over 42 years of experience, she specializes in behavioral health, PTSD, and crisis management.

Educated at St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing, Dr. Hunt-Slamow completed a bachelor’s degree at Hunter College Bellevue School of Nursing in 1976 and obtained her master’s degree there in 1978. She is an inductee of Sigma Theta Tau honor society and is a professional member of the American Nurses Association, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, South Carolina Nurses Association, and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.

Dr. Hunt-Slamow attributes her success to the grace of God, goal-directed determination, and an ability to continually learn from her experience. When not teaching nursing students, she enjoys opera, ballet and various arts, spending time with her beloved Wrinkles 4Paws, classical piano, and spending time with friends and family.
