Ms. Munsterman currently serves as the co-chair of the Shared Governance Council and the LEADS Task Force, and is a member of the Nurse Practice Committee and the Stroke Committee at the VA Medical Center. At the unit level, Lisa serves as co-chair of the Unit V-1 Spinal Cord Injury Shared Governance Council and actively works with all performance improvement projects to encourage teamwork in upholding the VA “I CARE Mission” of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect and Excellence.

Lisa attributes her success to her faith along with her strong desire, passion, and love for helping others. A professional musician, vocalist, and songwriter, Ms. Munsterman enjoys volunteering her talents at local events, as well as helping others through music therapy.

She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing and has  received recognition as serving as a chapter leader in  2002. She maintains a membership in the American Psychological Association, The Association for Play Therapy, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, New York Academy of Medicine, and Southern Poverty Law Center.

Christine attributes her success to curiosity, a thirst for knowledge, and great mentors.  Her original education was accomplished with the assistance of receiving a New York State Regents’ Scholarship.

Making a difference with a focus in helping others, guides her in her endeavors.  As an advocate for mental health services in New York City, she chaired  a task-force  for the Manhattan Mental  Health Council to research the starting of mobile crisis teams in the New York City Area. She was honored with an American Red Cross Award for her service during the 9/11 crisis. She is an active participant in the Nurses Health Study II. Her dedication has been rewarded by Visiting Nurse Service of New York, Mount Sinai Hospital (at Roosevelt Site), and Manpower Employment Services.

Christine has served in the armed services as a 1st lieutenant in the United States Army. She received extensive training in NBC Defense.

Christine maintains her expertise by reading Contemporary Pediatrics Current Psychiatry, Pediatric Annals and Play Therapy, as well as attending area conferences.

When not assisting patients, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, working with animal rescue groups,  golfing, skiing, swimming, and traveling.

Dr. Miles was educated at West Virginia University, where she completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Nursing and EdD in Educational Psychology. She was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing as a senior nursing student, was the  recipient of the Outstanding Student Award at graduation and awarded a Faculty Award from West Virginia University. She is a professional member of the American Nurses Association, Florida Nurses Association, National League for Nursing, Florida Association of Colleges of Nursing, and the National League for Nursing.

Dr. Miles attributes her success to a lifelong fascination with nursing and a desire to help others from an early age. When not educating future nurses, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and dogs.
