Skilled Nurse Kerrie Suzanne Buchanan, RN, RM, MN, to Be Published in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare

With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Kerrie Suzanne Buchanan, RN, RM, MN, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. She is a Registered Nurse with thirty-eight years of experience in her field and extensive expertise in midwifery, maternal, child and family health, lactation consulting, family therapy and research. Kerrie is currently employed at Tweddle Child & Family Health Service, an early intervention and prevention health service for families with young children up to school age in Footscray, Victoria, Australia. Kerrie is also a Sessional Lecturer on maternal and child health at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.

Kerrie received her nursing qualification at Alfred Hospital, Prahran, Victoria, Australia, midwifery certification at Mercy Maternity Hospital, East Melbourne, Australia, postgraduate community health nursing majoring in maternal and child health at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia, and then obtained her master’s degree in nursing in 2005. Kerrie’s master’s thesis explored infant sleep and associated issues and difficulties for parents from the perspective of maternal and child health nurses. Kerrie then gained her Master of Clinical Family Therapy in 2010 at La Trobe University. She is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and distinguished member of the Australian Association of Family Therapy, the Association of Maternal, Child and Family Health Nurses, the Victorian Association of Maternal and Child Health Nurses, the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation, and the Golden Key Honor Society. Kerrie credits her success to her passion for evidence-based practice and partnership with colleagues and clients in collaborative practice. Kerrie is passionate about working collaboratively with families to enhance relationships and attachment between infants and young children and their main caregivers to improve family life, and ultimately the communities in which they live and work.
