Skilled Registered Nurse Deirdre Kearney, RN, BSN, MSN, to Be Published in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare

With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Deirdre Kearney, RN, BSN, MSN, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. She is a Registered Nurse with forty years of experience in management, education, and critical care.

Deirdre currently serves as a Clinical Nurse Director in the Access & Telemedicine Program (CMS Grant), Department of Neurosurgery at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The goal of the program is to provide emergent neurological and neurosurgical telemedicine consultation to rural hospitals in New Mexico.Prior to her current role, which she assumed in 2014, Deirdre held positions as Unit Director of the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at the University of New Mexico Hospitals (UNMH). Other position at UNMH held was Director of the Neuroscience Line Service and Stroke Program. She received her bachelor’s degree of science in nursing (BSN) in 1975 from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Later on in her career, in 1998, she completed her master’s degree of science in nursing (MSN) as well as the primary care nurse practitioner program at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. Deirdre stays current through her professional membership with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and American Association of Neuroscience Nurses.

Deirdre has enjoyed a successful career throughout her four decades in her caring profession. She attributes her success to her motto: “If a door opens, go through it. Don’t be afraid of the unknown!” Although she has a schedule that keeps her busy, Deirdre still finds the time to dedicate to her other favorite activities, such as traveling and hiking.
