After four years in that field, she left that position to embrace the role of a clinical research nurse for the next four years within the same practice. Born in Jamaica, Karen has always wanted to help people maintain and regain their health. She attributes her success to great mentors and dedication to excellence in the field. She is motivated at the start of each day by the prospect of helping people. Karen also has volunteered her spare time with the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. Although busy with her work and school, she devotes her time outside nursing practice to help care for her four grandchildren, painting portraits, drawing, crocheting, cooking, and reading.
