In addition, she received her bachelor’s degree of science in nursing in 1997 from Jersey City University and her master’s degree in nursing education in 2006 from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now Rutgers University and/ Ramapo College of New Jersey. Furthermore, she obtained her doctorate of nursing practice in 2009 from Rutgers University. Although she has a vast expertise accrued throughout three decades of practice, Elizabeth continues to remain active in her field as a member of the American Nurses Association. In her spare time, she is quite passionate about reading, is very active in church, and enjoys traveling.

This honor reflects the unique combination of determination, compassion and creativity Nicole has demonstrated over the course of her nearly 10 years in the field.

Committed to her country as well as to the well-being of her patients, Nicole is on active military duty as a trauma and emergency care nurse for the Naval Medical Center located in San Diego, California, which provides advanced medical care to the operational forces, veterans and their families. Nicole is a firm believer in the importance of professional education and travels around the country to share her professional expertise with others. She is also the founder and president of the non-profit organization The Pink Swan Movement, which she was inspired to start after undergoing successful emergency open-heart surgery in 2008. The Pink Swan Movement distributes feminine hygiene items, undergarments and educational materials to impoverished and orphaned girls around the world.

Nicole’s mission to save lives began at University of South Florida in Tampa, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Susan has a registered nursing degree and is currently working towards acquiring her bachelor’s degree of nursing as well from Queen’s University. Nancy received her formal nursing education at St. Vincent’s Hospital, from which she graduated in 1973. She is a member of the Australian Diabetes Educators Association, the Australian Diabetes Council and the New South Wales Nurses’ Association. Cherie is a registered nurse with extensive experience in operating room care. She works as a PerioOperative RN at Wilmington Hospital, the flagship hospital of Christiana Care Health System. Cherie assumed her current position in 2008. The common definition of perioperative nursing is that it represents “a nursing specialty that works with patients who are having operative or other invasive procedures. Perioperative nurses work closely with surgeons, nurse anesthetists, surgical technologists, and nurse practitioners.” Wilmington Hospital has been serving the residents of Wilmington since 1890 and is currently providing distinguished, high-quality health care in the heart of Wilmington as a  241-bed facility that includes an emergency department with aero-medical capabilities, Center for Rehabilitation, Center for Advanced Joint Replacement, outpatient primary care services, Center for Comprehensive Behavioral Health, the Swank Memory Care Center, diagnostic imaging, medical laboratories, and the Wilmington campus also includes the Roxana Cannon Arsht Surgicenter and the Wilmington Annex.

Cherie attributes her success over her seven years in nursing to the support that she received from her family, especially her mother, who made it possible for her to complete her associate’s degree and continue her education, obtaining her BSN and MSN.  She is engaged in local volunteering, unit council work and precepting new perioperative nurses in addition to her work at the hospital. Furthermore, she teaches the bachelor’s degree program at Wilmington University. Cherie has a registered nursing degree from Delaware Technical and Community College at Stanton-Wilmington received in 2007, a bachelor’s degree of nursing from Immaculata University obtained in 2012, as well as a master’s degree of nursing education acquired in 2014 from Wilmington University. She is a CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room), a TNCC-P (Trauma Nursing Core Course Provider), maintains her certification in basic life support and is a BLS instructor. Cherie is not only a member of the Association of perioperative Registered Nurses, but a peer reviewer for the organization as well. She received the Nursing Excellence Award in 2012 and has climbed the clinical ladder to the level of RNIII as well. In her time off work, she enjoys spending time with her children and family, and is an enthusiast of decorating cakes.
