Laura is an established speech language pathologist serving Dowagiac, Michigan. She has previously performed in the same role with Maywood School District 89 and as Speech Language Pathologist for Chicago Public Schools. As a speech-language pathologist, Laura assesses, diagnoses, treats, and helps to prevent communication and swallowing disorders in patients. Speech, language, and swallowing disorders may result from a wide range of causes, including stroke, brain injury, hearing loss, developmental delay, a cleft palate, cerebral palsy, or emotional problems.  In the past, Laura also served as a Special Education Staffing Coordinator in Steger, Illinois and Maywood, Illinois.

Laura commenced her academic foray with a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders, which she acquired in 1989 from Saint Xavier University. In 1996, she also completed the master’s program in communication disorders at Governors State University. Furthermore, Laura received her general administration certificate in educational leadership in 2007 from Chicago State University. Additionally, she is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, which also granted her a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP/L).

Roberta is an exceptional nursing professional who enjoys every aspect of her work. She demonstrates her compassion, competency, and knowledge in her multifaceted role at Misericordia Health Centre in Winnipeg, the province of Manitoba in Canada. The Centre is an essential component of Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and has been delivering high-quality, faith-based health care in the region since 1898. Misericordia provides a complete spectrum of services and healthcare programs, including walk-in urgent care, dental surgery, respiratory therapy, and a 100-bed personal care home.

Drawing on her diverse and sharp skills as a nurse, Roberta works in multiple areas of nursing within Misericordia Health Centre, which she joined in 2010. She serves in the day surgery unit (DS), in the post anesthesia care unit (PACU), as well as in the pre-assessment clinic (PAC). Additionally, she is a member of the EMR implementation team for the Pre-assessment Clinic at the Centre. Preceding her present endeavors, Roberta acted in a full suite of posts with established Winnipeg healthcare providers, including RN in the Intensive Care Unit and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit with Victoria General Hospital and Casual RN at St. Amant Centre. Furthermore, Roberta is precepting and teaching new nurses on Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Roberta studied for her registered nursing degree and also for her bachelor’s degree of science in nursing at the University of Manitoba. She graduated in 2005 and commenced building a beautiful career in the nursing field, which is often referred to as the caring profession. Roberta is now a member of several groups and societies that allow her to advance in her career by encouraging continual learning and education and promoting the most advanced technology in nursing and medicine. She is therefore affiliated with the Manitoba Nurses Association, the Manitoba Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses, the National Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses, and the Canadian Nurses Association. In 2010, Roberta was offered a Nursing Excellence Award as a result of her outstanding performance as a registered nurse with Victoria General Hospital. She serves as Co-Chair of the Nursing Practical Counsel and attributes her success to great mentors, support of family and friends and returning to school later in life, which brought a different maturity and focus to studies.
