Jennifer R. Farmer, RN, BSN, MSN, Praised for her Work as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare

Drawing on her enduring passion for the nursing field, as well as her permanent pursuit of excellence in patient care, Jennifer R. Farmer, RN, BSN, MSN, has been chosen to represent the nursing community of Texas in The Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, proudly presented by the International Nurses Association. Jennifer has been selected for this prestigious honor as a result of her dedication, knowledge, enthusiasm, and compassion, qualities that have differentiated her from other professionals in her respective field.

For the last twelve months, Jennifer has been serving as a Family Nurse Practitioner with Lone Star Circle of Care in Austin, Texas. Lone Star Circle of Care started in 2002 as a locally-focused clinic in Georgetown and transformed into a federally-qualified community health center with more than 30 community clinics serving Central Texas. In addition to her current role, Jennifer’s nursing journey includes her outstanding performance in the neonatology intensive care unit, as well as her work in pediatrics and women’s health. As a nurse, she feels she is able to “help patients find the strength and motivation they always had, but never pushed themselves to find.” “I believe every patient has the ability to change their lives if they know someone is there to cheer them on and believe in themselves” she adds.

Endowed with an innate interest for nursing, Jennifer chose to build a career in the field as she believed it allowed her “an opportunity to help others and maybe even make a difference in the life of a patient.” She believes that nursing “gives you the opportunity to really get to know your patients and form a connection with both the patient and their family.” Jennifer obtained her registered nursing degree in 2007 from Austin Community College, followed by her bachelor’s degree in nursing that she earned from Texas Tech University (2008) with magna cum laude honors. She advanced her education with a Master’s Degree in Nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2012 from the University of Cincinnati. Jennifer was also inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
