Colleen E. Wagner, RN, Represents Pennsylvania

Wagner, RN, is being honored for her exceptional successes in the nursing community.  With many years in the industry, Colleen has demonstrated the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Nurse in her field.

Colleen works at Willis Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Willis Eye Institute is recognized as one of America’s top eye disease practices in the nation.  In fact, US News and World Report rated the facility as the number 2 best eye in the nation.  Colleen is a surgical nurse, who assists physicians for eye surgeries for cataracts, glaucoma, and other eye conditions.  In the past, Colleen also lectured at Pennsylvania Hospital, part of the Penn System.

In 1986, Colleen received her nursing degree at the St. Agnes Medical Center School of Nursing in Maryland.  She is also certified in advanced cardiac life support and basic life support.  With a love of nursing in her blood since age 4, Colleen attributes her career success of over 20 years to her parents.

Cyrina Lynn Rentschler, RN, Represents Alabama

Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare and the International Nurses Association are proud to announce that Cyrina Lynn Rentschler, RN, is being honored for her exceptional successes in the nursing community.  With many years in the industry, Cyrina has demonstrated the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Nurse in her field.

Cyrina works for the Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama.  The Center functions as the largest not-for-profit hospital in the state.  Home to many departments, Mobile Infirmary is home to renowned cardiovascular, stroke, bariatric and cancer programs as well as the Robotic Surgery Center of the South.  In addition to working with patients, Cyrina is a legal nurse consultant.  Her work is needed during trials when clients need to simplify medical jargon in order to win their case.

In 1992, Cyrina received her nursing degree from Augusta Medical College of Georgia.  She is also certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, and works in critical care.  Working with patients who are traumatically injured, Cyrina also maintains membership in the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

Susan D. Alexander, BSN, RN, Represents Washington

The International Nurses Association, INA, has carefully selected Susan D. Alexander, BSN, RN, to represent nursing in their publication, Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare.  Susan Alexander’s selection is a significant representation of her passion and dedication for the field of nursing.  She is considered to be among the best with over 15 years in practice.

Susan is a registered nurse at Providence Mount Carmel Hospital located in Colville, Washington. Mount Carmel received the VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence in 2010. Within Mount Carmel, Susan works in the labor and delivery unit, helping new mothers bring their newborns into the world, and provides education and orientation for new nurses. For 11 years, Susan also volunteered with the Boy Scouts in her spare time.

In 1997, Susan graduated from the University of Portland. To continue her training in the field, she also obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Susan remains knowledgeable in the ever-changing world of medicine by being a member of the Nurses Service Organization; an association that provides professional liability, life, and disability insurance and risk management information to nurses

Carolann McLawrence, RN, Represents New York

Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare and the International Nurses Association are proud to announce that Carolann McLawrence, RN, is being honored for her exceptional successes in the nursing community.  With many years in the industry, Carolann has demonstrated the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Nurse in her field.

Carolann works at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York.  Part of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, Kings County is noted for its exceptional trauma department.  Carolann serves the pediatric emergency department, working with children who have suffered emergency injuries and/or trauma.

In 2004, Carolann earned her nursing degree at Borough of Manhattan Community College.  Carolann is in the process of earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at NYC College of Technology.  She expects to graduate in 2014.

Ilse K. Jakobovits, RN, Represents Utah

Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare and the International Nurses Association are proud to announce that Ilse K. Jakobovits, RN, is being honored for her exceptional successes in the nursing community.  With many years in the industry, Ilse has demonstrated the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Nurse in her field.

Ilse is now retired, but used to serve Salt Lake Regional Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Over the course of time, her career has spanned the world.  It began in Chile, at the Institute of Neurosurgery in Santiago, on the medical-surgical and intensive care units, from 1953-1957. She was then a Charge Nurse at a small Obstetric Clinic in Temuco for 1 year, then a Head Nurse at a 70 bed Hospital in Loncoche from 1958 to 1961.  From 1964 to 1970, she worked in Germany in dermatology, plastic surgery, and ER for a hospital.  She then began work in Salt Lake in 1970, as a staff nurse for the ICU until 1977.  Her longest career stint was as a nurse for a private ambulatory clinic until 2011, when she retired.

In 1951, Ilse received her nursing degree in Chile.  She is also certified in Lamaze, medical-surgical nursing, and alternative therapies.  As an educator, Ilse taught kinesiology in Nicaragua, Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Spain, and Germany for a very modest sum from 1989 to 2011.  She has taken over 2,000 hours of kinesiology continuing education courses and co-authored a manual on the topic with another nurse.

Tanya K. Kirchner, RN, BS, Represents Missouri

Tanya works at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.  Recently named as one of the Best Hospitals in the St. Louis area by US News and World Report, Missouri Baptist provides quality care to patients in West St. Louis County and beyond.  Tanya specializes in interventional radiology, offering patients imaging procedures to help diagnose and treat disease.  When Tanya is not at Missouri Baptist, she is also on staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, also located in St. Louis.

In 1973, Tanya received her nursing degree from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Indiana.  Tanya is also a certified medical-surgical registered nurse, and is also certified to work with patients in the intensive care unit.  To stay active in her field of interventional radiology nursing, Tanya is a member of the Association for Radiologic & Imaging Nursing.

Margaret A. Wehler, RN, Represents Pennsylvania

Margaret is a registered nurse based out of the city of Newtown, Pennsylvania.  She specializes in the intensive care unit, working with patients who are too sick to be in regular units of the hospital.  Affiliated with nearby Lansford Hospital in the town of Lansford, Margaret is an advanced cardiac life support teacher there.

In 1978, Margaret received her nursing degree.  Margaret enjoys the challenges of the nursing field, the variety of opportunities, and learning new technology that comes along with the changes in intensive care nursing.
