Tanya works at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.  Recently named as one of the Best Hospitals in the St. Louis area by US News and World Report, Missouri Baptist provides quality care to patients in West St. Louis County and beyond.  Tanya specializes in interventional radiology, offering patients imaging procedures to help diagnose and treat disease.  When Tanya is not at Missouri Baptist, she is also on staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, also located in St. Louis.

In 1973, Tanya received her nursing degree from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Indiana.  Tanya is also a certified medical-surgical registered nurse, and is also certified to work with patients in the intensive care unit.  To stay active in her field of interventional radiology nursing, Tanya is a member of the Association for Radiologic & Imaging Nursing.

Donna M. Hedges, MBA, MSN, CNE, RN, Represents Texas

Hedges, MBA, MSN, CNE, RN, is being honored for her exceptional successes in the nursing community.  With many years in the industry, Donna has demonstrated the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Nurse in her field.

Donna is currently enrolled as a PhD student in Capella University.  Her degree is in Education, with a special emphasis in Nursing education; she plans to graduate in 2014.  With over 30 years of nursing education underneath her belt, Donna has completed research on Incivility in nursing and nursing education as well as Academic and Health Care Leadership.  Donna remains President of the Texas League for Nursing and is an Ambassador to the National League for Nursing.

In 1981, Donna received her associate’s degree in nursing from St. Petersburg Junior College in Florida.  She then received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tampa and her master of science of nursing from the University of Phoenix. With an MBA from the same university, Donna also possesses the Certified Nurse Educator title (CNE).  Voted an Image Maker in 2011, Donna maintains membership in the American Nurses Association, the Texas Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International.

Margaret A. Wehler, RN, Represents Pennsylvania

Margaret is a registered nurse based out of the city of Newtown, Pennsylvania.  She specializes in the intensive care unit, working with patients who are too sick to be in regular units of the hospital.  Affiliated with nearby Lansford Hospital in the town of Lansford, Margaret is an advanced cardiac life support teacher there.

In 1978, Margaret received her nursing degree.  Margaret enjoys the challenges of the nursing field, the variety of opportunities, and learning new technology that comes along with the changes in intensive care nursing.

Monica Manuel Murdock, RN, Represents Louisiana

The International Nurses Association, INA, has carefully selected Monica Manuel Murdock, RN, to represent nursing in their publication, Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare.  Monica Murdock’s selection is a significant representation of her passion and dedication for the field of nursing.  She is considered to be among the best with nearly 25 years in practice.

Monica is currently a school nurse, in charge of three schools, in the St. Landry Parish School Board based out of the state of Louisiana. As a school nurse, Monica is responsible for tending to students with severe health issues such as severe asthma, seizures, anaphylactic allergies, food allergies, Epi-Pens, diabetes, Insulin pumps, and numerous medications for ADD/ADHD and other drugs. Monica also is well-versed in performing student assessments, vision screenings, and immunization audits. With many years in the field, and past experience in various nursing positions, Monica is no stranger to taking a leadership in emergency situations that occur daily with her young patients. A nurse of many talents, Monica also is Lead Nurse for a Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic and is a CNA Instructor for Train the Trainer. Earlier in her career, Monica served as a public health nurse, a psychiatric nurse, a home health nurse, and worked in the Burn Unit at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center. Her heart being dedicated to the field and her patients that suffer, Monica is involved with promoting fund raising benefits for those young people who need nursing care.

In 1989, Monica graduated from the Baton Rouge General Medical Center of Nursing with her registered nurse degree. To continue her training and involvement in the field, Monica is a member of the Louisiana School Nurses Association and the Louisiana Nurses Association; staying active and up-to-date in her procedures and advancements in technology.

Peggy M. McCormick, LPN, BS, Represents Louisiana

McCormick, LPN, BS, is being honored for her exceptional successes in the nursing community.  With many years in the industry, Peggy has demonstrated the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Nurse in her field.

Peggy works at Ochsner Home Health Care in New Orleans, Louisiana.  In the field since 1973, Peggy has held many positions in nursing.  Currently, she involves herself in regional public speaking on tuberculosis and health in the work place; as well as pioneering a health program, Pathway to Wellness.  Pathway to Wellness is an award-based program for employees of Ochsner to get healthy by giving them money in exchange for exercise.

In 1973, Peggy received her nursing degree at Nunez Community College.  She also has a Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola University, and her research was published in the 1970’s.  During the 1980’s, she received a Jefferson Award for Outstanding Service as an Individual to the Public for her service.  From 2001 to 2005, she worked lecturing others about tubercuolosis, and also has blood banking management and clinical research technician experience in her past careers in healthcare.

Patricia Rivard Duval, RN, MSN, APN-BC, Represents New Mexico

Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare and the International Nurses Association are proud to announce that Patricia Rivard Duval, RN, MSN, APN-BC, is being honored for her exceptional successes in the nursing community.  With many years in the industry, Patricia has demonstrated the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Nurse in her field.

Patricia works at Heavenly Health Family Nurse Practitioners, located in Gallup, New Mexico.  They provide individualized care to all of Gallup, providing medical care, hospital transportation, and help for chronically ill patients. Patricia is President and advanced family nurse practitioner, caring for families with the same autonomy as that of a physician.  Patricia is also certified as an acute care nurse practitioner, specializing in chronically ill elderly patients.

In 1972, Patricia earned her nursing degree at the Alexandria Hospital School of Nursing.  She then earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree at the University of New Mexico and Northern Arizona University.  For all of her work, she was award with a Community Health Award and a Sigma Theta Tau Nurse Practitioner’s Award.  She remains a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the New Mexico Chamber of Commerce.  In her spare time, she conducts local and regional preceptorship and instructor for nurses and nurse practitioners.

Susan D. Alexander, BSN, RN, Represents Washington

The International Nurses Association, INA, has carefully selected Susan D. Alexander, BSN, RN, to represent nursing in their publication, Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare.  Susan Alexander’s selection is a significant representation of her passion and dedication for the field of nursing.  She is considered to be among the best with over 15 years in practice.

Susan is a registered nurse at Providence Mount Carmel Hospital located in Colville, Washington. Mount Carmel received the VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence in 2010. Within Mount Carmel, Susan works in the labor and delivery unit, helping new mothers bring their newborns into the world, and provides education and orientation for new nurses. For 11 years, Susan also volunteered with the Boy Scouts in her spare time.

In 1997, Susan graduated from the University of Portland. To continue her training in the field, she also obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Susan remains knowledgeable in the ever-changing world of medicine by being a member of the Nurses Service Organization; an association that provides professional liability, life, and disability insurance and risk management information to nurses
