In 2010, Mary graduated with her nursing degree.  In 2011, Mary was nominated for the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing Cameos for Caring Award for her excellent work with patients.  She is a local preceptor and teacher in the Pittsburgh community, and thrives on seeing her patients improve.  This is her greatest passion in her nursing career.

Sylvia works at Froedert Hospital in the greater Milwaukee area of Wisconsin.  There, Sylvia works in the critical care unit, which is for intensive care patients as well, as a rotating charge nurse.  Prior to her career in this unit, Sylvia worked in the cardiac intensive unit for several years, treating patients with heart and vascular problems.  In addition, Sylvia has certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, NIH Stroke Scale, and Medical Surgical Nursing.

In 1993, Sylvia received her nursing degree from the Carrol/Columbia School of Nursing.  She then completed a Master of Science in Nursing in Health Care Systems Management from Loyola University in New Orleans.  While there, she created a mobile response nurse position to reduce unplanned ICU admissions and to support graduate nurses.  Sylvia acts as preceptor at Froedtert and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau honor society for nurses.

Alyssa Kaye Glanzman, MS, CCC-SLP, Represents California

Ms. Glanzman’s career began in 2005, after she received her bachelor degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison.  She continued her education, receiving her master’s degree in speech language pathology from the University of Arizona in 2007. This university’s research has been ranked number 18 by the National Science Foundation.

Located in Oakland, California, The Willow Tree Nursing and Rehabilitation Center serves patients in need of rehabilitative recuperation, respite, hospice, nursing, short and long term care needs of our community.  At Willow Tree Nursing, Ms. Glanzman is the Rehabilitation Director; there she specializes in Geriatric Patients and Long-Term Care.  Being a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association she works at making effective communication, a human right, accessible and achievable for all.

Rowella De Guzman Sanchez, RN, BSN, Represents Nurses of Ontario

he Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare and the International Association of Nurses welcome Rowella De Guzman Sanchez, RN, BSN, to a new standard of leading nurses; as a result of her exceptional success in the medical industry and her community. With 6 years of service completed in her field, Rowella has consistently demonstrated the dedication, excellence, and devotion for patient care necessary to be considered among the best during her years in practice.  Rowella is blessed to have the emotional and financial support of her wonderful family behind her.

Rowella is currently working at the Specialist Group Hospital and Trauma Center in Ontario, Canada.  She performs services in the intensive care unit, as well as performing the role of medical-surgical nurse educator.  The nurse educator has the important job of teaching up-and-coming nurses the tricks of the trade.  Rowella does this with third and fourth year students at the hospital.  As a medical-surgical nurse and critical care nurse working in the ICU, Rowella deals with patients who have a number of severe injuries or diseases; many of these are life-or-death situations.  The job can be very stressful and demanding, but Rowella has been achieving success in the field since her 2006 graduation.

A native of the Philippines, Rowella attended college at the De Los Santos- STI College Inc. in Quezon City.  The college was developed in response to the expansion of the De Los Santos Medical Center.  In 2010, Rowella re-located to Canada, after serving the Philippines as a medical-surgical nurse and volunteer.

Kristen Hileman, MSN, FNP, RN, Represents Pennsylvania

The International Nurses Association has carefully selected Kristen Hileman, MSN, FNP, RN, to represent nursing in their publication, Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. Kristen’s selection is a significant representation of her passion and dedication for the field of nursing.  She is considered among the best in her years in practice.

Kristen serves Somerset Hospital, of Somerset, Pennsylvania. Somerset is an award winning hospital, earning a Top 10% in the nation for patient safety in cardiac care, pulmonary care, women’s health care, gallbladder removal, and interventional cardiac care by CareChex; a safety rating company.  Kristen serves the hospital as a telemetry specialist, working with all the heart and breathing machines to provide optimal care for the patient.

Kristen is also a family nurse practitioner, working independently with various duties similar to that of a physician.  FNP’s are a higher level of nurse than a traditional RN, and practice with a certain level of autonomy.  In some states, they can even write prescriptions.  Kristen comes from a family of nurses, and she tries to use them as inspiration when she practices.  Nursing is a lifelong career for her, and one that she loves dearly.

Esther E. Watson, BSN, RN, Represents Morristown, New Jersey

With over 60 years of service completed in her field, Esther has consistently demonstrated the dedication, excellence, and devotion for patient care necessary to be considered among the best during her years in practice.  Esther has a pleasant, easygoing personality and also has a love for educating and motivating her peers to achieve their nursing goals.

Esther works at Morristown Memorial Hospital, in Morristown, New Jersey.  The hospital was ranked in U.S. News and World Report’s Best Hospitals Edition in 9 adult specialties in 2011-2012.  As a peri-anesthesia nurse, Esther specializes in administering care to those recovering from anesthesia procedures.  She is certified to practice peri-anesthesia in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  In 1986, she served as President of the American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses, and frequently lectured on the subject.  This organization serves to educate and assist other new nurses specializing in peri-anesthesia.

A veteran in the nursing field, Esther has been working in peri-anesthesia for an astonishing 64 years.  Her degree was earned at the Arnet Ogden Medical Center in New York in 1948.  For her efforts in the field of peri-anesthesia nursing, Esther received a Star Member Award from the  Aspen State Organization and a 25 Years of Service Award from the American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nursing in 2008.

Moira C. Austin, RN, BA, Represents Ontario

Austin, RN, BA, is being honored for her exceptional successes in the nursing community.  With many years in the industry, Moira has demonstrated the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for patient care necessary to be considered a Top Nurse in her field.

Moira works at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.  Moira has 27 years of nursing experience, mainly in critical care. She has been an organ and tissue donation coordinator for the Trillium Gift of Life Network for over eight years. Recently, she has been able to add part-time faculty to her list of accomplishments, teaching in the BScN program and in the enriched nursing program for critical care nurses. Moira can practice nursing in Canada and the United States; she also holds a license to practice in Tennessee.

Moira received her nursing degree in 1984.  She also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, and is a candidate for a Master’s in adult education from Yorkville University in New Brunswick.  For her work with the Trillium Gift of Life Network, Moira was featured as Ms. March on their calendar.  She maintains memberships in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario and the Ontario Nurses Association.  When Moira is not practicing nursing, she can be found teaching at McMaster University and Conestoga College.
